Reference thicknesses are 20 mm (about 3/4 in) and 30 mm (about 1-1/4 in). A mitred edge can create a deeper visual profile without treating the entire piece as a solid thick slab.

The production discussion should begin with a marked slab image. Place the island first, reserve companion areas for waterfall legs or a full-height backsplash, and then nest smaller perimeter pieces.
