Four Decisions That Separate a Sea Wave Outdoor Space from a Generic Patio
Match the Finish to the Wettest Condition
Sea Wave granite is naturally slip-resistant, but the finish determines how much grip it provides in wet conditions. Flamed and brushed finishes add texture that increases surface friction - ideal for pool surrounds, exposed steps, and rain-wet paths. Polished finishes are suitable for dry terraces and interior-adjacent spaces but should not be used on pool decks or steps that get wet. Confirm the required wet-pendulum or local slip classification with the project consultant using the final sealer - not an unsealed sample.
Coordinate Falls with the Paving Module
Set drainage falls before choosing slab sizes. Large pavers look calm but need a substrate that can carry consistent falls without lipping. Align channel drains and movement joints to the paving module so water management reads as part of the design rather than an afterthought. Choose Thickness from the Loading

Gang-Saw Cutting
Blocks are mounted on the gang-saw and sliced into full-size slabs at 20-30 mm (3/4-1-1/4 inch) reference thickness. Chilled water and steel-shot abrasive produce a clean, flat surface ready for finishing.

Surface Finishing
Slabs pass through flamed, brushed, or polishing lines depending on the specified finish. Flaming uses a high-temperature torch to create a textured, slip-resistant surface; brushing uses abrasive bristles for a softer texture; polishing achieves a high-gloss finish for dry areas.

CNC Cutting & Edge Profiling
For pavers, copings, and steps, slabs are cut on CNC bridge saws to exact CAD dimensions. Edge profiles - eased, bullnose, chamfered - are milled on CNC routers. Pieces are numbered and sequenced for installation.
